(( marriage after wls ))

Taken from http://www.asbs.org/archive/abstracts/posters_edited_2006.pdf

One year after surgery, relationship satisfaction (4.1 +/- 1.1; p < .05) and weight-related sexual difficulties (p < .05) were significantly improved. Most married patients were still married (97%) and only 3 % had separated from their spouses.

Conclusion: This prospective study demonstrates that WLS patients report improvements in relationship satisfaction and weight-related sexual quality of life one year after surgery, while experiencing minimal disruption to their marital relationships.

So divorce is not always immenent after wls.  This is good news.  Although this study doesn't show the percentage of those who were having difficult issues before wls, and if this brought on the divorce after wls.  I will continue researching.
